Important: This information applies exclusively to vouchers issued by Ctaste. If you have a voucher issued by a partner company, please contact that company directly. You can find more information on this in the next question.
Is your voucher/ticket about to expire?
As long as the voucher is valid, we can extend it once for a short period. So, if you first choose a date when you would like to come and eat, we will extend it until that date.
We can only extend vouchers within 6 months of the same calendar year. Unfortunately, we cannot do so after that.
We would ask you to contact the organisation from which you purchased the voucher or ticket directly. Only they can extend the validity of the voucher for you; we are unable to do this for you or on your behalf. These organisations manage the funds and vouchers themselves; unfortunately, we have no influence over this.
Regrettably, we cannot accept expired vouchers from third-party companies ourselves. This would mean that we would receive no payment ourselves. Thank you for your understanding.
Important: Please ensure that you always contact the company before the voucher’s expiry date. Most of these companies have an extension policy provided the voucher is still valid.
Do you have a voucher issued by Ctaste itself? If so, you can make a booking and bring the voucher code with you to Ctaste. We will apply the voucher at the checkout.
Do you have a voucher issued by Ctaste itself? If so, you can use it to choose something else of the same value. You can pay the difference if necessary. We do not offer cash refunds on vouchers.
If you have a voucher or booking made through another company, we must adhere to the terms and conditions stated on the voucher.
Sometimes you may not be able to complete the purchase of a gift voucher. We’ve noticed that in such cases, you can always use the green pop-up to buy a voucher. Click on the wrapped gift icon and follow the steps there.
We’ll welcome you in our well-lit lounge, after which you’ll be shown to the dark dining room. It isn’t possible to eat in the light here.
That won’t be necessary, but it might be best to avoid wearing all-white clothing.
Yes, you’ll always be seated with your own tablemates. You won’t be sharing a table with strangers.
These tables are grouped together in the same room. It’s not the case that each table has its own separate booth.
That’s far fewer than you might expect in a dark restaurant. You’ll also be given a napkin, and we have plenty in stock should you need more.
We’ve also chosen cutlery, glassware and the menu with the dark setting in mind, to minimise the risk of spills.
That’s entirely up to you. We always provide cutlery, but experience shows that most of our guests soon switch to eating with their hands.
Certainly, as long as there are only a few ingredients, you can still let us know on the day itself.
As a rule, we do not serve very spicy food, bones and fish bones, offal, snails or insects. We also adhere to Dutch standards regarding what is considered edible.

Absolutely, we’re happy to cater for dietary requirements and allergies. We have a surprise menu, but of course we’d like to prepare something that suits your taste.
We can also cater for vegetarian and vegan diets.
When making your booking, please let us know any dietary requirements or allergies you may have. We will then go through these with you in detail during the briefing in our restaurant. You can also mention anything you may have forgotten at that point.
You will be asked about your dietary requirements or allergies at several points. This will be requested during the briefing in the illuminated lounge and noted on the kitchen order slip. Our blind waiters will check this with you again once you are seated at your table.
When the kitchen serves the dishes, they will use a plate of a different shape, or two plates stacked on top of each other.
Using a walkie-talkie, they will inform the waiters which table the dishes are for and what dietary requirements and allergies apply. The waiters can then feel the edge of the plate to identify which dish they are serving.
Upon arriving at the table, the waiter will check with you who the adapted dish is for and serve it.
Certainly, we’re happy to accommodate that. On our vegetarian menus, we do not serve meat or fish.
There is a vegan alternative for all our experiences except for the High Tea.
That’s right, most of our guests come in pairs. You’ll then be seated at your own table, just the two of you.
Yes, we have around 95 seats. Is your group larger? If so, please enquire about our on-site events.
Yes, children have a great time at Ctaste too. In our experience, it’s suitable for children aged around 6 and above. However, this does vary from child to child, so as a parent, you’re best placed to judge whether it’s right for your child. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask us.
We offer a three-course children’s menu for €22.50 per person. In terms of ingredients, this follows the adult menu as closely as possible (so no chips or frikandel). This way, your children can also enjoy the same delightful culinary experience. Naturally, the menu is tailored to children, so we take care with the use of spices and alcohol.
Within walking distance, you’ll find Amstel railway station (approx. 15 mins), Wibautstraat underground station (approx. 10 mins) and the Lutmastraat stop on tram line 4 (approx. 5 mins’ walk).
As there are many travel options, it’s best to check www.9292.nl or Google Maps to ensure you have the best connection.
Yes, there are various options. A good tip is to use the website www.prettigparkeren.nl. Enter the address, date and time/duration, and you’ll see all the parking rates and options.

We are in no way liable for any direct or indirect damage arising from the use of the information below. Street parking
You can park on the street around the restaurant. From Monday to Sunday, this costs €6 per hour; on Sundays, parking is charged from 12:00 to 24:00. By Amsterdam standards, there is generally sufficient parking available.
Payment is only possible by debit or credit card. The easiest way is via a parking app such as Yellowbrick or Parkmobile, as there are fewer and fewer physical payment terminals.
Check here for the current rates on the Amsterdam City Council website. This is, however, one of the more expensive options; see the parking tips section for cheaper alternatives.
Car parks
Parkbee
Parkbee is the Airbnb of car parks and parking spaces. Companies and private individuals offer their available parking spaces or garages here at a competitive rate. Prices vary widely, but sometimes you pay as little as €3 per hour.
Q-Par
No, unfortunately we don’t have our own car park.
We do our best to ensure our venue is as accessible as possible for wheelchair users and are happy to help make your visit as enjoyable as possible. Our restaurant is designed to accommodate wheelchairs of standard dimensions.
If you have an electric wheelchair and/or one with lots of lights, we’d be happy to cover them up in consultation with you, as we like to keep the room dark.
Due to limited space, we do not have a disabled toilet.
We only allow assistance dogs or guide dogs in our restaurant. It is best to arrange for a dog sitter, for the dog’s own safety.
