Ctaste was founded in 2007 as an initiative to introduce the concept of dining in the dark to the Netherlands. From the very beginning, the founders recognised that this presented a unique opportunity for people who are blind or severely visually impaired to put their talents to good use.
Since its inception, Ctaste has provided employment for a pool of around 10 blind staff members in the service team. Without them, Ctaste would not exist, because thanks to their excellent sense of space, timing and hospitality, we are able to offer guests this unique experience.
Many young blind people have found their first job or part-time role at Ctaste, enabling them to start their studies or careers just like anyone else. Ctaste remains committed to promoting employment for this group.
The City of Amsterdam recognises us as a Social Return Partner and counts expenditure at Ctaste towards Social Return on Investment if companies indicate this. For example, organise a company outing or a Christmas gift through us. In this way, your company or organisation contributes to even more real employment opportunities for this talented group.
